OnTheMarket.com are the latest property site to hit the sector. Launched in January of 2015, their aim is to make your property search simple.

Since their launch they’ve had over 1.5 million unique visitors to the site, with more and more agents moving their properties from other sites seeking exclusivity with OnTheMarket.com.

The site is highly funded and backed by some of the biggest domestic and international players in the property sector including (but not limited to) Savills and Knight Frank.

We worked with OnTheMarket to create a design that would fit seamlessly into their existing branding and messaging. Keeping the design simple and clean, we managed to add structure to what normally appears (on competitor sites) to be pages full of clutter.

Keeping the site clean and intuitive was a major goal for us. We didn't feel the user would appreciate being overwhelmed with information, so we worked hard on forming a visual structure and hierarchy that would allow the user to scan a screen of multiple properties, yet be able to retain and see the information they needed to make a decision on whether to save or view a property.

The property details page was a significant challenge to us. As a lot of information about both the property and agent had to be displayed as well as a set of actions for the user. We created a two column layout with property information being front and center with agent information displayed to the right. As both have to be visually prominent, yet non-intrusive, the design of both was of extreme importance, making space and hierarchy key to the layout.
